           Given the rising number of attacks against Christians, in places around the world where they represent a minority population, several European institutions have issued documents which aim at taking concrete steps and developing coherent politics to promote and defend religious freedom. We hereinafter provide in full text the documents issued by the European Parliament, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe and the Council of the European Union:

On March 18, 2011, the Grand Chamber of the European Court of Human Rights has approved the appeal of the Italian State on a 2009 decision condemning the presence of religious symbols in state schools. According to the new decision, the State will continue to be the one to decide whether religious symbols can be displayed in such public places. We provide the full text of the court's press release:
