Stiri >>

An International Symposium for PhD students took place at Putna Monastery, in north-eastern Romania, on May 8 and 9. PhD students had the opportunity to meet and share their experience and present their research. The theme of the symposium was the Anointing of the Sick, as 2012 has been proclaimed the Homage Year of this Holy Sacrament throughout the Romanian Patriarchate.

On May 8 and 9, the 4th edition of the International Symposium Studia Theologica Doctoralia took place at Putna Monastery. The event was organised by the “Dumitru Stăniloae” Orthodox Theology Faculty of Iași and the “Filaret Scriban” Research Center.

The papers presented at the symposium were centered on four research areas: biblical, historical, systematic and practical theology respectively. It was meant as an opportunity for the PhD candidates from various doctoral schools in Romania and abroad to meet and share their research and experience. The presentations were centered on the theme of the Holy Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick and the care for the sick in general.

The papers presented at the symposium shall be included and published in a volume entitled Studia Theologica Doctoralia.
